Throughout my life I have always been active. In my youth I was a competition swimmer and diver.. As a young adult, I spent my free time under a parachute, on a rope, camping, hiking, hunting or fishing. In my later adult years I began to concentrate more on family, friends and veterans. This still holds true today. (albeit my wife would probably argue that the order is veterans, friends and family)

I am a active member of my VFW Post and my American Legion post. Working with other members on projects supporting veterans and the community.

I also find myself very involved in legislative issues concerning veterans, working to promote legislation targeted towards the improvement of veteran's and their families lives as well as lobbying for those living with ALS.

I believe that staying as active and engaged as possible is key to living your best life. Not to say that I don't have bad days, quite the opposite. I just try not to allow myself to become discouraged by the bad days.

I have my medical issues that need attention from time to time and the never ending string of Dr.s appointments but I just look at those as a chance to chat with friends from that part of my life.
